Not having seen the television version of Horton Hears a Who, I can’t say whether this is better or not. But it’s a perfect rendition on its beget, and I found it thoroughly enjoyable—as did a 16-year-old with whom I saw the film yesterday.

There are helpful Seuss-like characters racy on the veil, and their personalities match 100% those of the unusual two-dimensional Horton, Morton and friends who graced the pages of the favorable Dr.’s fabulous book.
My fondest memories of Horton include his egg-hatching episode. But that in no plot diminishes the delight of seeing our old-fashioned Elephant companion, dancing and prancing his design up a mountain side—through myriad obstacles—to a reliable cramped cave where the Whos and their Whoville can safely reside.

Children young and extinct, including grandparent-variety kids, will savor this enjoyable and intellectual anecdote about sticking to one’s highest goals, through thick and thin, and against the advice of all one’s friends.
The classic Seuss narrative makes it to the astronomical mask and I was very jubilant with the results. I usually derive that children’s books made into movies can be unnecessarily long and drawn out to design a decent movie time; therefore they tend to traipse a bit for this broad kid at the theater. I plan this one was mammoth, a perfect length and it held the interest of my two year musty niece who made her debut at the theater that day. When the movie was over she excitedly asked “are we going to witness it again? ”
This movie has all the quirky scenery that you ask from Dr. Seuss; from the funky trees and crazy houses, to the wonderfully imaginative Who’s, nothing disappointed. I was a tiny shrinking to look this as Jim Carey usually grates on every nerve I have with his overacting and hyperactive persona, but he made a exquisite Horton and I found myself enjoying him for the first time in years.
I recognized a lot of the voices and conception them extremely well cast; Carol Burnett as a villain was a surprise and a treat. My sister and I laughed out loud a lot throughout this film, we enjoyed it as noteworthy if not more than our kids. The lessons in Horton Hears a Who are simple and one can’t relieve but assume how the world would be a better location if everyone had a cramped more Horton in them. I really found the whole movie fun and this is definitely a movie I will seize when it makes it to DVD.

Excellent reenactment the doomed Franklin expedtion and subsequent success of Amundson’s discovery of the Northwest passage linking the Atlantic with the Pacific.
Finally, the truth, or as distinguished as we shall ever know, about the tragic fate of the crews of the Erebus and the Fright. Even the names (Erebus is Greek for the Gates of Hell) sound like a precursor to doom.

I have read two books on this expedition and the mistakes that Commander Franklin made himself were enough to undermine their voyage. You need only to compare his leadership to that of the enormous Antarctic explorer, Shackleton, who faced equally dire conditions, to contemplate why he failed.
NOVA, as always, brings the facts and does it in a attractive and objective design. I recommend this to anyone who has any interest in global exploration, particularly the Arctic and the Antarctic.

In this glossy 1933 hit, Joan Crawford is an aspiring dancer who wants a chance to gain it titanic. She meets a rich playboy (Franchot Tone), who, gradual the scenes, paves the contrivance for her to win her tall shatter. He arranges for her to find a fragment in the novel Broadway musical directed by Clark Gable, who grudgingly gives her a share, after he realizes that she does, in fact, have talent.
This is an MGM extravaganza in which the studio pulled out all the stops. There is something for everyone. Ogle for Busby Berkley-esque musical numbers, cameo performances by the three stooges, Fred Astaire’s mask debut as Joan’s dancing partner, and a Nelson Eddy performance that pre-dates his Jeanette MacDonald days. This is definitely an oldie but a goodie.
Delightful performances are given by the entire cast. Joan Crawford can, in fact, dance and is terrific in her role. Gable is definitely on his blueprint to becoming a mask heart throb. This is also one of Franchot Tone’s most ingratiating performances, as he looks like he is really besotted with Ms. Crawford. It comes as no surprise that he later became her second husband, as his performance is positively inspired. The film is vintage Hollywood. Joan Crawford fans will savor it, as will anyone who enjoys classic films.

Plenty of pre-code girlie shots, including a sequence where a chorus line of ragged, hobbling grannies are bopped, sawed, hacked, drilled and chopped (all in silhouette slow closed drapes in a futuristic “beauty parlor”), thereby transforming them into young 30’s-style babes, while Rodgers’ music is honked out in brassy, saxophone-and- banjo-laden brilliance.
The ladies then kill up riding a giant mirrored carousel in the sky, with Rodger’s tune now transformed into a Tchaikovskian waltz.
And Gable and Crawford kiss for the final fade-out!
I KID YOU NOT!!
And so—will this wacky, fantastic, Depression-era delight ever be preserved on DVD, representing as it does a high-point in sheer lavish Hollywood escapism of the period? Don’t acquire your breath.
NOTE: During the back-stage scenes, Larry Resplendent (of the 3 Stooges) plays the company’s rehearsal pianist. The script includes a running gag as he works on a jig-saw puzzle on a card table during the dreary periods of the rehearsals. When he fits the last portion of the puzzle into the frame, he FINALLY realizes the puzzle’s visual subject matter— “Oi!” he shouts:
“It’s Hitler!”
A very timely reference, since Hitler had recently been voted into power in Berlin. I actually saw this scene in a TV print of “Dancing Lady” shown on a local Washington D.C. UHF region in summer of 1975; when I next saw the film–in a revival house in Chicago in 1984, the scene was MISSING. I was even MORE suprised and disappointed upon viewing the commercial VHS release in the behind 80’s to win that the scene DOES NOT EXIST in the official print. IT will probably never be seen again.

Soldier is a rare experience that is far more than the state, which has been outlined by the editorial comments. This is a slump taken by a strong warrior into his have humanity. I cannot even count the number of times that I have watched this movie, but I know it is more than twenty. I recognize more each time.
Kurt Russell’s amazing and much acting skills gain Sergeant Todd proper. Successfully creating a character without dialogue is an art — and he mastered it. This movie provides insight into today’s violent world as well.
Todd has known nothing but war or training since he was born. He was conscripted in the hospital; he never knew fancy, or laughter, or how to play. He obeyed orders and did not bellow unless spoken to. The perfect soldier could not have emotions. If the only contrivance to extinguish an enemy was to slay innocent victims, then he did what was required.

Todd is the best soldier of the “former timers,” and he has been bested a unusual, genetically engineered soldier. One of the most poignant scenes is on the world where he was dumped for lifeless. The survivors that created a life on Arcadia are nervous to have a soldier in their midst, and ask Todd why he is there alone. He stands, no expression on his faces, and says, “I was replaced by a better soldier, Sir.”
Although he acknowledges that he is no longer proper enough to be a soldier, as his body heals he works to grow stronger and returns to the training rituals that have ruled his entire life. As he sees the interaction in the group that saved him, he is conflicted by emotions that he never experienced. When asked what he idea about, he says, “Anxiety. Alarm and training.”
It is extremely painful for him to be exiled from these people because he is too strong, and his violent training is too unsafe. He does not understand what he feels. This is my popular scene. He is alone in his exile, sitting in a concrete drainpipe with tears running down his face. He wipes the tears away, and with the skill of a vast actor, Russell shows that he does not even know what they are.

The arrogant commander of the fresh soldiers considers Arcadia the perfect first “war.” Anyone on the planet was considered hostile. Three soldiers attacked the shrimp group, killing without provocation. They have no hope until Todd returns and saves the group. When he is asked what he would do, he says, “Raze them all, Sir.” He will not let the group encourage him because “A soldier deserves a soldier.”
Good writing means that the hero must have an enemy equal to his abilities, and this has substantial writing. In facing the final soldier, Todd’s intelligence wins the battle.
I am passionate about this movie. The acting, status, special effects, and depth fetch five stars.

It’s a 10. Wonderful acting by Kurt Russell; directed by Paul Anderson, genius late _Blade Runner_. He captured the essence of dictatorship and its opposite: individualism. Initially the protagonist, Todd, follows orders, faded as a means to the ends of the Spot, a fighting machine who’s then discarded. But Todd survives being dumped on a heap of refuse on a desert planet, to develop his plot to a slight settlement of free people. There he learns what it means to have selfish values and to admire a woman. When the totalitarians return to threaten her, only Todd can slay them. Fight scenes and interpersonal dynamics were masterfully done. This is not a simplistic action movie with bullets flying everywhere. This is action melded with brilliant strategy, melded with a deep philosophical message. A sci fi classic, proper along with Blade Runner.

I really don’t understand all the unpleasant reviews from critics and reviewers alike for I personally loved this movie. Now, it’s not the grandest spectacle to grace the huge hide nor is it Russell Crowe’s finest hour, but `A Great Year’ is some quality entertainment and serves it purpose in the relaxed and gay season that is tumble. Having unbiased seen the poorly made and highly overrated `Catch a Fire’ I was ready to relax and discover something interesting and savory, and being the Russell Crowe fan that I undoubtedly am I decided that `A Sterling Year’ would be unbiased that movie.

Max Skinner (Crowe) is a stuck up British stock broker who at one time was a kind hearted soul, and his fondest memories are littered with his Uncle Henry (Finney) and his Chateau in France. Upon his Uncles death Max is left the sole owner of Henry’s estate, and in like fashion he flies out there in order to sell if for profit and design it help ASAP. What he doesn’t bank on is Christie Roberts (Abbie Cornish) showing up claiming to be the long lost daughter of Henry and claiming rights to his estate. Throughout the course of the film Max has to go through the stages of redemption, which include discovering the jerk he has become and rediscovering his inner child.
The two key components to his amazing film is the scenery and the acting. The script and storyline as some have already pointed out is very unoriginal, we’ve seen this done plenty of times, but the beauty that is France, as well as the beauty that is Russell Crowe and Marion Cotillard (who plays Fanny, the seductive woman who steals Max’s heart) more than manufacture up for the familiarity. Crowe is, as many know, my all time well-liked actor ever, and I feel that he can carry any film he touches. Whether you are a fan of his phone throwing escapades or not, you have to admit that the man is gifted, very gifted. Here he proves that by being objective as compelling and sharp laughing and smiling as he is riding into battle. Albert Finney and Marion Cotillard are also unbelievable here, but to me it was slight Freddie Highmore (such a talented young man) who outshined most in the cast (can anyone outshine Crowe…I don’t acquire so) .

As I said in the beginning, I don’t understand all the terrible press. So what if it’s no `A Pleasing Mind’ or `Gladiator’, so what if Russell was not Lucky Jack or James Braddock, `A Beneficial Year’ is serene a noble time and Max Skinner is objective as fun as Crowe ever was. I recommend it, I enjoyed it, no better yet, I loved every shrimp of it.
Oui, this is a “feel-good” movie. Oui, the script has almost no surprises in it. Oui, Ridley Scott, Russell Crowe and the rest of the cast must have had a gigantic time shooting this.
Still, this movie delivers exactly what i expected. It made me smile, it made me laugh (”Lance Armstrong!”) . It is a touch short on drama. Bon, to be objective the drama bit is poorly handled.
The actors are estimable and i did not feel i was making them a favour for paying to explore this movie. Ridley Scott delivers some nice views. Lovely enough.
Relax, let the movie consume you where you know it is going, and delight in that simple pleasure. There are many movies out there with greater ambitions but that notify far less.

Not at all impressive… Unbiased recorded few lines in each speech… clarity of audio is OK…… I suggest you not to steal this.
This is a fantastic selection of substantial speeches. However, beware they are not all complete. The Martin Luther King “I Have a Dream” speech skips the well-known beginning paragraphs. That alone is reason to pass on this CD.

Before I even gather started, I’ll address what was for me, and so I occupy it was for many Tenchi fans, the fright over the replacement English dub for Ryoko. Mona Marshall replaces Petrea Burchard in this third OVA series. You’ll know her as both the English dub voices of Kite in the .hack games and Nataku in X. Her train here tries to assume Petrea’s essence, but comes off as distinguished younger. Of course, as a long time Tenchi fan, I miss Petrea as Ryoko, but I consider Mona has done a heavenly job, certainly better in any event, than she did for the GXP series.

Most of the rest of the assure cast returned this time around, however they are all also ten years older, and a tuned ear can hear the dinky differences. Sasami was dull on with the recent though, however, Sherri Lynn hasn’t been out of practice using it, as she has done the same state for numerous other anime and games over the years (most notably MOMO in Xenosaga) .
Now, the series as a whole is titillating. It’s the same present, only some ten years later in coming. A lot more CG is ragged this time around, and most of it is very definite and almost seems out of spot. The epic picks up where it left off, and for anyone who is either curious with it or can’t remember it, being that it has been so long, the first episode has quite a few flashbacks to acquaint and re-aquaint the audience with the backstory and characters.

The first volume of OVA 3 deals with the arrival of Noike, an arranged fiance to Tenchi by everyone’s approved Devil Princess of Jurai, that you may remember from Tenchi GXP, Lady Seto. Yosho’s wife Airi (also from GXP) arrives, as does an unexpected relative of Tenchi. Supposedly this unusual OVA series will deal more heavily with Washu, Tsunami, and the mysterious Tokimi. For fans who were hoping that Kiyone from the Universe and Tokyo series and movies would advance, sorry, she isn’t a allotment of the new OVA storyline and won’t be appearing (her appearance in the Mihoshi special isn’t fraction of the OVA timeline) . However, Noike does a lot to believe that void for any lingering Kiyone fans out there (you’ll impartial have to leer and gaze what I mean) . And for anyone who is confused, in the helpful timeline, Kiyone is the name of Tenchi’s mother. It was changed for the first movie to Achika, to cut confusion between herself and the other Kiyone.
In any event, I highly recommend this DVD for any faded Tenchi fans, as well as the GXP series for anyone who is confused about all the current characters who appear on this disc.
…the more they change. At first it seems like Tenchi and the girls haven’t changed at all. And they haven’t really. But in the background events are titillating to change everything. Lady Sato has sent Noike to Earth to be Tenchi’s bride-to-be! And while Ryoko and Ayeka determine how to handle her Lady Tokimi is carrying out her occupy dwelling against Washu and Tsunami.
Of course there is lots of humor, black hints – foreshadowing – of future events linked with Tenchi’s future bride and blueprint too many flashbacks.
The English dubbing kind of threw me off – some voices are the same (fair older) and some voices are recent. Ryoko’s English allege upset me at first but by the third episode I didn’t seem to spy.
With only three episodes and not noteworthy in the plot of extras only a genuine Tenchi fan should bother to recall up the disc. Unexcited, it does promise a unusual, new and enchanting series of episodes – the Tenchi Muyo! universe is nothing if not enthralling!

Already people are fretting about this movie Mel Gibson is making about the last days of Christ in which everybody will be speaking Latin and/or Arameic without subtitles. Well, if you are a-feared of such a prospect you can warm up on 1981 Canadian/French production from Jean-Jacques Annaud. “Quest for Fire” (”Le Guerre du feu”) should be a noble test for you because in this memoir, space among the Cro-Magnons of eighty thousand years ago, you know neither the characters nor the dwelling.
The genesis for this yarn is quite primal. A tribe of Cro-Magnons is attacked by its neighbors and has its fire stolen. This requires a dinky band to go forth and leer fire, which is essential to ensure the tribe’s survival. The trio consists of the brains of the outfit, Naoh (Everett McGill), the hulking brute, Amoukar (Ron Perlman), and the wiry humorous relief, Gaw (Nameer El-Kadi) . Along the blueprint they hook up with Ika (Rae Dawn Chong), a young woman who is rescued from slavery because she actually knows how to Do fire, as opposed to waiting for lightning to hit something and launch only a very runt minute fire.
The authenticity of the “language” in this film comes from the work of authors Anthony Burgess(”A Clockwork Orange”) who created the spoken languages and Desmond Morris (”The Naked Ape”) who worked on the body language and gestures. I have certainly met a few people who were bothered by the lack of sub-titles, but never anyone who did not understand what was going on or what was being communicated. Without your eyes darting to the bottom of the camouflage throughout the movie you can pay attention to the nuanced performances and each viewing allows you to further amplify the dialogue you are conjuring up in your mind. For realism, “Quests of Fire” has everything from “One Million B.C.” to “Clan of the Cave Enjoy” beat enormous time.

Ultimately, this myth is not unprejudiced a quest for fire, but a quest for esteem at a time when we deem men simply knocked a woman over the head with a club and dragged her home to his cave, and if the film had not suggested the birth of good civilization came with the discovery of the missionary plot, this film would indulge in a remarkable better reputation. Annaud was probably trying to construct a point about the importance of romance as a contributing factor to human evolution, but that idealization goes up in smoke when Ika shows Naoh a better arrangement of doing it (it was almost enough to cost this film a star, but overall the ambition and execution on this one is too great to be that petty over one minute screw up) . For now the biggest complaint is that “Quest for Fire” is not yet available in wide-screen, because Claude Agostini’s cinematography loses a lot in the scan-and-pan version of this decidedly “foreign” film.
Undoubtedly Jean-Jacques Annaud is an unconventional director. With only ten films done up to this moment he has managed to impact the audience more than once.

A Cro-Magnon tribe is deprived, after a combat, of its major treasure: fire.
They know the value of fire but hasn’t the technique to compose it by themselves. So a group of three tribe-men begin the Quest for Fire, a sort of prehistoric Grail Quest.
In their travel they encounter other tribes with different stages of culture; ranging from bestial cannibalistic to fire “technocrats”.
They have time to rescue an endangered stone-age lady and of course the hero falls in adore with her… and discovers many engrossing recent possibilities.
There is an astounding anthropological reconstruction work by far better than other filmic intents as “The Clan of the Cave Hold”.
Anthony Burgess (author of “The Mechanical Orange”) has created a neo-lingua for this movie and Desmond Morris (author of “The Naked Ape”) all corporal and gestural language.
The actors and actresses under heavy make-up declare a very convincing performance, depending mostly on mimics to divulge themselves.
Musical derive in charge of multi-nominated to Cesar Awards Philippe Sarde, underline the action.
Finally a special mention must be done to praise Jean-Jacques Annaud work, who as director, takes a mammoth risk and complies with honors.
This is a substantial film for audiences involved in history, anthropology or honest irregular adventures.

It may not be a classic, but “Li’l Abner” is a provocative movie with a convoluted storyline that does credit to its creator, the unhurried Al Capp. All the characters are here: Hairless Joe and Lonesome Polecat, brewers extraordinaire of Kickapoo Joy Juice; Moonbeam McSwine (Carmen Alvarez), who sings that “sleepin’ out with pigs is my line;” Earthquake McGoon (Bern Hoffman), the “world’s champeen dirty rassler,” who is so besotted with the fair Daisy Mae (Parrish) that he conspires with Senator Jack S. Phogbound (Ted Thurston) to net Dogpatch evacuated and destroyed so its inhabitants will be forced to give up their cherished tradition of Sadie Hawkins Day, under which no man can marry a girl unless she first catches him in the annual rush (Daisy, of course, has eyes only for Li’l Abner) ; Available Jones (William Lanteau), the avaricious storekeeper, and his cousin, the statuesque Stupefyin’ (Julie Newmar), whose body can finish any red-blooded male unimaginative in his tracks; General Bullmoose (Howard St. John), the world’s richest man, who dreams of owning “all the money in the world,” and his “executive secretary,” the redheaded Appassionatta Von Climax (Stella Stevens), who set to fetch control of the formula for Yokumberry Tonic (even unto planning Abner’s slay) ; Evil-Eye Fleagle (Al Nesor), the scurrying Brooklynite with an arsenal of “whammies,” who hires out to further their plan; “mystical” and “pugilistical” Mammy Yokum (Billie Hayes), who originated the tonic, and her henpecked husband Pappy (Joe E. This tonic, which makes men youthful and physically perfect, is instantly coveted by the government and General Bullmoose alike–but it has the depressed side-effect of making the user completely disinclined to romance, hence Abner’s stiff resistance to being “caught” by Daisy Mae, even though he is fond of her. In the raze, Daisy is willing to sacrifice herself (as Earthquake’s bride) to rep her suitor’s attend for her beloved Abner, but it’s Pappy Yokum who saves the day with shrewd psychology. And Dogpatch is saved too, by a most unexpected revelation.
Casting and makeup are to be commended for creating an assortment of characters that match Capp’s vision uncannily (as do Alvin Colt’s costumes) ; I’m always particularly impressed at the size dissimilarity between Li’l Abner and his parents. Michael Kidd offers several dance numbers of stout verve in “Don’t That Engage the Rag Offen the Bush,” “Jubilation T. Cornpone,” and “The Matrimonial Stomp.” The cartoonist’s satirical tone is echoed in Palmer and Kaye’s duet, “The Country’s in the Very Best of Hands,” and Palmer and Parrish’s two numbers, “Namely Me” (a frequent catchphrase from the strip) and “Otherwise,” deserve to be better known. The entire movie was, of course, shot on sound stages, but considering its previous incarnation on Broadway that should be puny distraction. Its broadly portrayed “hillbillies” and occasional ’50’s chauvinism are far from politically good, but it should appeal to kids (who will probably miss the double entendres and the attractive pokes at government, gargantuan biz, and the like, and unprejudiced appreciate the laughs) and adults alike.
I’m sorry but I really care for this movie. Not only a thoroughly toothsome musty musical comedy, but also one of the most successful transitions of a Broadway display from stage to cover. Probably because they didn’t try to “start it out” too noteworthy but kept to its theatrical origins and style by filming entirely on sound stages against cartoon-ish backdrops and sets. The reveal is, after all, based on a famed laughable strip and the film is able to recreate that behold distinguished better than any stage production could. The result is a high-energy, fast-paced, knee-slappingly amusing, rip-roaring musical amusement.

The ever qualified team of Melvin Frank and Norman Panama not only managed to bring Li’l Abner to the veil virtually intact, they also brought along some of the key members of the current cast, most notably Stubby Kaye (never better) as Marryin’ Sam and the astonishing Peter Palmer as Li’l Abner. The cloak is also filled with beautiful and scantily-clad (in the best possible taste) females including winsome Leslie Parrish as Daisy Mae, ravishing Julie Newmar as Stupefyin’ Jones, and scrumptious Stella Stevens as the wonderfully named Appassionata Von Climax. All the familiar Dogpatch characters are there, aid by the most energetic chorus line ever seen.
If the film occasionally brings to mind that other classic backwoods musical Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, that’s because the songs are by Johnny Mercer and Gene De Paul and the show’s fresh choreography was by Michael Kidd – all of whom contributed so effectively to that earlier film.

Li’l Abner is nothing if not fun with a decidedly bawdy and occasional cynical sense of humor that ranges from abominable puns and double entendres to slightly risque observations on male/female relationships to political satire. The satire is not as dated as you might contemplate – objective listen to the song “The Country’s In The Very Best Of Hands”.
The world was a different status serve when Li’l Abner was made and, of course, there really isn’t a Dogpatch. But it’s aloof a fantastic dwelling to visit for a couple of hours. What I wouldn’t give for a restored, widescreen, stereo DVD of this film…

I would give the movie itself five stars, but the DVD presentation is not as strong. The 1980 Flash Gordon movie is one of the funnest romps in the dwelling opera I have ever experienced. Worthy more lawful to the Saturday morning serial kind of sci-fi that Star Wars was paying homage to. Plus the soundtrack from Queen fair ups the fun factor even more. You would judge this combination of music and shriek would beget for a very campy film, but not necessarily. While the movie definitely knows it’s roots and is having fun with that you really can’t call Flash Gordon a cheesy B-movie.

What I am finding out about the Savior of the Universe (SotU) edition DVD is that it is lacking a lot of the chilly stuff from the European Silver Anniversary Edition DVD. While you do catch a remastered film with 2.35:1 anomorphic widescreen, 5.1 Dolby Surround and the movie trailer it lacks in the really estimable special features from the European DVD. That one has commentaries by director Mike Hodges and actor Brian Blessed (the very charismatic hawkman ruler Vultan), production stills, interviews and plan art. The SotU DVD has none of this.
What you do procure is two featurettes. One is from Alex Ross (the guy who painted the DVD mask) on how distinguished he loves the movie. He actually does a really beneficial job of making his featurette mighty like an analysis of the movie and would have worked ample as narration for a documentary. Instead you impartial catch Alex in a chair with a few movie clips thrown in here and there. The other featurette is called Writing a Classic by screenwriter Lorenzo Semple Jr. Definite the Silver Special Edition doesn’t have these featurettes, but I assume you’re really missing out without those commentaries and interviews.

Another thing that bugs me is this DVD is plot in an impressive and slightly oversized case, but when you originate it up all you gather is the DVD and the pencil art insert from Alex Ross. No booklet detailing any info on the movie… not even a single page chapter list. Yeah, Yeah… most of you would say “but the remastered movie is what’s indispensable” but considering the sendup (and packaging) I would query at least something more than fair a disk and a sketch. I have seen movies with far less noteriety bag more in their packaging than this.
The remastering itself is definitely a tremendous step up from the modern DVD release, but unruffled not perfect. The matte blocks are painfully noticeable on the spaceships early in the movie. There is however a whole lot less dirt and distortion (almost unnoticeable) compared to the first DVD release. Also don’t demand an fabulous audio experience even if they remastered in 5.1 Dolby Surround. Again, it’s a superior deal better than the other DVD, but my guess is the source material wasn’t gargantuan so the remaster composed sounds a bit on the thin and tinny side. Mild I won’t argue that this is the best transfer of the movie to date.
I can’t for the life of me figure out why they didn’t unprejudiced add the European edition features to this one and maybe add the novel things to sweeten the pot. But beget a different edition alltogether that is missing some chilly bonus material? Not the smartest travel in my book.
So should you acquire the SotU Edition of Flash Gordon? Well it IS remastered (and I hear some say it’s better looking than the UK edition, although this is not confirmed) and available in the US, but a trusty fan might only go for it if you can’t play set 2 DVDs or if you really, REALLY want that Alex Ross featurette (and pencil insert) . It’s a tough call. I consider the Silver Anniversary Edition is probably the better of the two, but this will do in a pinch.
Don’t acquire from online scammers. This DVD will be re-released in the descend of 2005!!!! Cheaper that these clowns sell them for!
